Unless you want to look like a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ reject, eye make-up for men should be completely undetectable. Women love a man’s smouldering gaze, and even more so if it’s natural. You can get the look with eye make-up for men, but let that be your secret.
Women usually find Middle-Eastern men appealing for their flashing, naturally defined eyes. The main ingredient is long, shiny lashes.
Eye Make-Up for Men: Undetectable Eyeliner
For high definition and longer lashes, use kohl eyeliner. Only naturally black haired men should use brown; bronze works best for other colors.
The following method is unconventional, but tried and tested. It creates definition without any apparent make-up. To be certain the look is right for you, experiment with it when you’re not planning on going anywhere.
Apply eyeliner to the waterline of the upper lid (the upper inner lid below the lashes). Although not blunt, the pencil shouldn’t be too sharp. Blink hard, close the eye and clean with a cosmetic wipe. Open the eye and remove smudges from below the eye. Repeat two or three times until there is no more smudging. Remaining eyeliner is undetectable but enough to provide definition and add length to lashes.
Eye Make-Up for Men: Defined Lashes
Mascara
In order that it looks natural, apply mascara only to the tips of top lashes, then gently squeeze between thumb and forefinger to remove excess product. Although mascara defines lashes, it doesn’t add shine.
Eyelash and Eyebrow Gel
Better is eyelash and eyebrow gel, mostly available in clear, brown and black. Even if your lashes are dark, it’s still best to choose a color to optically add length; eyelash tips are usually bleached by sun and other environmental factors that makes them seem shorter. Apply from root to tip. If results appear artificial, squeeze lashes between thumb and forefinger.
Both these products are prone to smudging, so don’t rub your eyes.
The non-smudge option is eyebrow and eyelash dye. Either get it done professionally or do it yourself.
Gentler than other hair coloring products, eyelash and eyebrow dye is easy to use and available in various browns and black. Only men with black and brown-black hair should choose black for natural looking results.
Mascara and gel can make you look “pretty” if applied to bottom lashes; dye doesn’t have this effect.
Shine, Condition & Body
Make eyelashes shine with castor oil, the best known natural lash conditioner. Just moisten the finger with oil, hold it before the eye and blink into it. Or use a castor oil based lip balm for shine and extra body — also great to keep eyebrows in place.
Eyelash Curlers
Lashes look even better if they are curled. Curl before applying mascara, gel or oil with an eyelash curler.
Place the curler close to the lash roots, squeeze for five seconds and release. Take care not to catch skin in the curler.
Deep set and tired eyes need concealer.
